I‘m doing Threads Audits for customers of Threads Unleashed Vol. 2.
I’ve come across 3 big mistakes people are making on Threads.
Here they are:
#1. Most bios are too vague
Vanilla.
General.
They look like every other bio.
Here’s a bulletproof bio:
- 1st line: What you do for who
- 2nd line: Credibility
- 3rd line: Any social proof
- 4th line: My call to action, directing them to my link
Inject your personality here
This is where you “sell” them on scrolling to check out your content
If they like your content, they’ll click FOLLOW
But you have to “sell” them on scrolling down the page FIRST.
#2. Too many are teaching with “How to…” content
- Dan Koe can teach How to content
- Alex Hormzoi can use How to content
- Justin Welsh can teach How to content
They all have CREDIBILITY, so the trust is there.
You have to EARN your audience’s trust.
You do that by sharing your EXPERIENCES (the good AND the bad)
EXAMPLE:
Instead of “3 mistakes to avoid in digital marketing…”
Use: “3 mistakes I made in my first 30/60/90 days in digital marketing
#3 Very few doing long forms
This was my 2nd biggest tip from Threads Unleashed Vol. 1, right behind engaging.
