I’ve walked 10,000 steps a day since April 9th, 2024. 589 days. Well, 586, if we’re being technical, as I’ve missed 3 days. I remember the day I made the change. It was my Dad’s birthday, April 9, 2024. I started because my life felt a bit chaotic. Kids, content, Uber shifts back then. It was BUSY. I needed one part of my day that wasn’t a hot mess. One rhythm. One promise. One anchor. Somewhere around day 200…then again around day 337…then day 489…something shifted. The walks stopped being “exercise”. They became a reminder of who I was turning into. Someone who keeps the promises I make to myself. Someone who shows up when it’s 117 in Vegas, or raining sideways, or the kids had a meltdown because we wouldn’t take them to Disney World at 5:37 am on a school day. I became a person who doesn’t negotiate with my excuses. And that identity started spilling over in other areas…my business, decisions, margin and peace. I quit Uber 82 days after I started walking. I earned $19,372 in one month selling “silly” PDFs 113 days later. All because one tiny habit started rewiring my whole damn system.
