So… it’s time. After 500+ days, countless posts, dozens of “DUDE I love this username!” messages… I’m killing the Piss Off Boss username. Yep. Taking it out back behind the shed like an old, limping farm animal in a sad country movie. And putting a bullet in its head. It’s catchy. It’s funny. It’s memorable. It was the perfect username for who I was. The backstory of the name…. In 2016, I helped a client launch a Shopify store. About 6 months after working together, he sent me a message thanking me because he quit his job. He worked for Solar City in Denver. For some reason…Piss Off Boss…popped in my head. I bought the domain right away. I liked that phrase back then. It’s felt too Internet Markety for me. Too hypey. Too gimicky. However, I’ve got dozens of compliments over the last 16 months, so I’ve held on to it. I built a brand around the name. It was perfect for who I was. It’s wrong for who I’m becoming. Soon, I’ll have a new username (likely just my name) Growth requires change. I’ve built a brand around this name. Many know me because of this name. It served its purpose. It helped me build momentum, confidence, and a community I’m proud of. It’s time to step into something bigger, soemthign better.
