I bet I’ve posted this on Threads a dozen times… I see a lot of Creators online with little experience trying to be sooper, dooper smart. I used to play that game, too. I wanted to come off as I knew all the answers. I never struggled. They should listen to me as I know what I’m doing. I’d overthink and overanalyze because I needed to share something “earth shattering” every single time. That content kinda, sorta worked years ago. It doesn’t work anymore, unless you’re last name is “Hormozi” (that content still works, but you’ve got to have the credibility). The market has shifted. Instead, I just document my journey. The “Here’s what I’m doing now…” type posts. Like when I shared that I launched a funnel with a broken checkout page and still made $5,472 in 24 hours. Or when I admitted I had no idea what platform I was even using until 5 AM. Or when I admitted I launched too many offers, which split my focus and hurt my results. Do these posts go viral? No, they do not. Do these posts create DEMAND? Yes! Yes, they do. I got this comment on Threads yesterday…. ​ An hour later, I got this DM on Instagram…. I get these comments/messages often because the style of content I publish. Here’s what I learned: People are fed up with perfect. They want REAL. They want to see the “messy middle”. They want something they can RELATE to. Take off your teacher hat. Put your guide hat on. Your people want proof that someone like them can actually do this. So, I stopped trying to be sooper, dooper smart, and started sharing what I was doing/learning (the good, bad, ugly & weird). I switched from “How to…” to “How I…” style content. In a weird twist of irony….I’m doing it with this email. I do it with just about every email I send. You don’t need to have it all figured out. And PLEASE don’t pretend like you do (I see this all the time). Real stories build trust. Trust leads to people whipping out their wallets, and giving you fists full of cash.
