Here’s a tough truth most people aren’t ready to hear… Your success won’t threaten strangers on the Internet. In fact, I find the strangers online are you’re biggest cheerleaders. Sadly, it will trigger the people closest to you. Friend who might poke fun at you, or suddenly go quiet. Family who start asking “helpful” questions. The people who know you in real life know the old version of you, and they prefer that version. I’ve experienced this. Many other creators deal with it as well. I have plenty of conversations with others, “But Adam, but [INSERT FAMILY/FRIENDS] don’t support me” YOU’RE NOT ALONE. This is super common. I like talking about it, as many get deterred from lack of support from family/friends. When you start putting yourself out there. When you start voicing your opinions, or sharing stories about your life. When money and confidence start showing up in your life… That’s when the weird energy comes out from those closest to you. You might experience little jokes or jabs, side comments, and questions like, “How’s that little side hustle going?” Here’s what’s really happening: Your leveling up is like holding a mirror up to these people, and showing them the potential they’re squandering away. People hate that sh*t. This is completely normal, and many of us experience this. You’re not alone, Reader. Put your blinders on. You cannot let their smart ass comments get in your head and slow you down. Eventually, they’re going to ask “How you did it?” Not all of them will ask that, but don’t be surprised when it does happen. You’re building your life. Your dream. Your business. This is not for them. This is for you. And your people. Here’s what i suggest you do (that worked for me): Keep fu*king going. Keep poting. Keep building. Keep showing up. Not to prove them wrong, or rub it in their face. But because your dream is worth more than their comfort. The people you’re meant to serve likely aren’t sitting at your Thanksgiving table judging you. They’re scrolling Threads or Instagram with a painful problem, hoping someone like you will show them what’s possible. Be THAT person. YOU GOT THIS 🙌 In your corner, P.S.
