I should’ve bought a new damn bike! Remember that email I sent a few days about about my son’s bike? On Monday, the chain and brakes broke. I fixed the chain. After an hour, I waived the white flag on fixing the brakes, and took it to the bike shop. Called the shop. They quoted me “about $25.” Walked in and it jumped to $46. “But might need new brake pads.” Walked out $69 lighter. Fine. It’s working now. We picked it up yesterday morning. Ashton got home around dinner time, “My tire is flat”. I wanted to jump on our 2nd story window. We got working on the bike this morning. It turns out the tire was fine, it was the tube that needed to be replaced. Lucky for us, we had 2 extra tubes in the garage. I got the new tube and tire on. We needed a pump, so we ran to the store to get one. Got home and started pumping it up. Tube had a hole. MFER!!!!! Grabbed the other tube, put that on. Grabbed the pump. As I’m pumping, I hear a hissing noise. This tube had a hole in it, too! MFER!!!! I told him I needed a break. The bike is still in pieces on our kitchen floor. I had to write my daily email by 4:15. He understood. He also heard Dad “MF this and MF that” more times than I’d like to admit. I could’ve handled it better, but we got to bond. I’m working on being clam and patient in these situations. Obviously, a work in progress 😜 First week of summer vacation is almost in the books. God is testing me for something big, I just hope I’m passing. YOU GOT THIS 🙌 In your corner, P.S. I promised a workshop signup page today. Nothing went to plan today (or this week, for that matter). Story of my summer so far. It goes live tomorrow. I’ll have details in your inbox. |
