Career numbers (234 total victories). A wife and 2 kids. The whole thing. And then one day, a severe illness, and then nothing. Oof. I sat with this one last night after the kids went to bed. You can outwork everyone in the room and still run out of time. Kyle didn’t run out of drive, talent, skill, or money. He ran out of days. At 41 years of age. Hits different at 44. I’ve wasted a lot of days. Weeks. Months. Years. Driving Uber at 2 AM wondering when my life was gonna start. Paralyzed by the opinions of others. Waiting for the “right time” to bet on myself. There ain’t a right time (never has been, never will be). There’s just today. Not tomorrow, next week, or next month. Make the thing. Launch the thing. Sell the damn thing. Call your kid.
