Today’s our big 4th of July adventure: We’re taking the kids to the water park. There’s a DJ. There are games. There’s a hot dog eating contest (hard pass). And there’s a pie eating contest. This is where I shine. Basically, this is my Super Bowl. I told Amanda if I don’t walk out of there with whipped cream in my ears, and victory in my belly… I’ve failed the kids. I’ll never step foot back in that water park. But here’s the thing… Winning a pie eating contest isn’t about skill, form or talent. It’s about commitment. It’s about showing up, even though it’s gonna get messy. Not giving AF what you look like. Kinda like creating content online. Most are so damn worried about what other’s think about them, that they hold back. They fear sharing the mistakes or hiccups. They want to “impress” their people, so they only show the good stuff. They foolishly think that’s how they gain authority. I’ve built a brand, sharing it all. The good, the bad. The happy, the sad. And people respect me for showing it all. Now only that, they buy my stuff. Let this be your reminder, Reader… Show up. Get messy. Even if you look a little ridiculous. You might surprise yourself.
