This might sound weird, but… I was chatting with my friend Audrey (fellow entrepreneur) about this topic a few weeks ago. I sent her a voice note (we share daily voice notes) that said… I feel like AI has been a net negative for me AI has been wonderful. It’s transforming our everyday lives at a rapid rate. My concern? It’s how I use it. I spend far too much time “tinkering” in Lovable. I bet I have 15 Lovable projects that I’ve created this year. I bet I’ve shared 2 or 3 with the public. I open a project, build out a tool (or dashboard), spend a few days tinkering with it, and then I’m onto a new project. Completely forgetting about the project I started a few days ago. I used to have this problem with domain’s. I’d buy these cool domains, get all excited for it, then a day or 2 later, be like…”Yea, I don’t like that idea”or I’d have some other “genius” idea. I run too many of my ideas through Claude seeking validation (or permission) from a computer. I find myself using the 6 inches between my ears less and less. I’m essentially outsourcing my thinking to AI. It’s been a massive time suck for me. It’s benefitted my life in many ways, but overall, I feel it’s been a net negative. Here’s how I see it… Entrepreneurship is one big game of self trust. Every decision we make alone and stick with is a deposit in our “self trust bank”. Every time we lean on AI for a decision, or confirmation, or permission, or validation is a withdraw from our “self trust bank”. Over time, this erodes the trust we have in ourselves. I saw a business coach post on Threads a couple weeks ago she challenged her clients to go on a 10 “AI fast”. No Ai for 10 days. Just use your own brain. Make your own damn decisions. I think a lot of us in the creator space are quietly doing this and few are talking about it/saying it out loud. You don’t lose your self trust in a big moment, it’s like the “death by a 1,000 cuts” thing. It happens over time, little by little. If you’re struggling with the same…know you’re not alone, Reader YOU GOT THIS 🙌 In your corner, When you’re ready, here are a couple of ways I can help you…
