I went weigh overboard today

I been on a bit of a diet lately.

Eating under my calories, 150 grams of protein daily, and try to get 30 grams of fiber each day.

I weight everything I eat, track calories, and been swimming laps in the pool.

Weeks ago, I told myself once I get in the 150s, I deserve a cheat meal.

I stepped on the scale this morning: 159.8 lbs.

We already had plans to meet my parents for Father’s Day lunch. At a place that specializes in Detroit pizza.

I told myself 2-3 pieces.

I lost count somewhere around 5 or 6.

Then my Mom said, “Let’s go to Dairy Queen!”

I was not hungry, but I cannot say “no” to a mint Oreo blizzard.

I went weigh overboard (see what I did there 😜)

Here’s what I used to get wrong about days like today…

I used to let one cheat meal turn into a cheat day, then a cheat week, then….well, back to eating whatever the hell I want whenever the hell I wanted to eat.

The 159.8 lbs wasn’t a lie this morning because I stuffed my face with pizza and a blizzard.

That wasn’t a lie. The swimming, daily steps, counting calories & measuring food all happened. Today happened, too. All true.

One day ain’t gonna undue weeks of hard work. It’s just a Sunday.

Same thing happens in business. One bad day (or bad week) ain’t proof you you’re not cut out for this. Honestly, it ain’t proof of anything. It’s just a day (or week).

KEEP FU*KING GOING!!!

YOU GOT THIS 🙌

In your corner,
Adam

P.S. Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads out there! Your work matters. Keep showing up. Keep kicking ass. Keep leading by example. I’m ALWAYS rooting for YOU!!!
