I spent this afternoon scrolling through my Meta ads account. Boring to most, sure. I like looking at past campaigns and numbers. I quickly realized something… I’m sitting on a goldmine of data! I have an unorthodox way of running ads. It doesn’t make sense “on paper”, but it works. I post reels on IG. And I run ads to some of those reels. That’s the 30,000 foot view of the strategy. I bet I’ve ran ads to 50 Reels now. I bet 40-45 have generated me sales, so I have real sales data telling me exactly what people responded to. I grabbed my phone to shoot a voice note to my friend Audrey… Why I haven’t recreated the best 20 or So Reels dozens of different times each is beyond me I’ve got all the data I need to pump out Reels (that are backed by sales data) for the next 6 months. Probably, for the next year Yet, I often times overthink my reels. Sometimes I “scroll for inspiration”, which usually leads to going down different rabbit holes, depending on the content on the feed. The only “scrolling” I should do for inspiration is open my ads manager. Everything I need is right there. The answer a lot of times is in your data. Past content, ads, emails, conversations, etc. And we often times ignore all of it, to go chase something new.
