We’re wrapping up the first week of summer vacation here at Chateau de Dukes. It’s been a bit of an adjustment. It seems like it’s every 37 seconds… “Dad, can I have this?” “When is lunch?” “Can so-and-so come over?” “When’s lunch?” “My bike broke” “Can we go to the pool?” “Can so-and-so spend the night?’ I feel every email I sat down to write this week, I had the “DAD, WATCH THIS” playing over and over in my head. Took them to matinee yesterday. My daughter had to see the new movie the day it released. That’s a non-negotiable, apparently. Most people had to ask permission to take a Thursday afternoon off this week. It’s been fun. And challenging. And frustrating at times. I stayed up until 1AM a couple nights this week.
