Most Creators dodge the one activity that could change everything. I had a call with a Creator this afternoon. He’s a wizard with Instagram and worked with some big time entrepreneurs. A 30 minute call. He asked me my struggles with IG. I told him I struggle with IG Stories. He said that’s been a common theme among the people he’s chatted with. He jotted notes as I shared my frustrations. This guy is a successful Creator who’s earned multiple six figures online. Yet, he still makes time to hop on the phone to conduct market research. He didn’t try to sell me anything. He’s working on something revolving around IG, and doing his homework. We joked about the weather (he’s from New Hampshire), talked about being a Dad and business. I could have talked with him for an hour. I yap about this often, and most blow off the idea. The fastest way to create a kickass offer that opens wallets? Get on the phone with 20-25 people. Ask questions. Listen. Take notes. Ask “why” that’s important. Share your insights with your audience. You’ll discover what people are fed up with. You’ll spot patterns (like he noticed IG Stories is a big problem for many). This gives you the intel to solve a real, painful problem. Yes, it takes work. But you could knock out these calls in a month. You’d have a kickass offer built from research, not theory. And if you take good notes? Content ideas for the rest of the year. I did this in 2020.
