The elevator test (and why most offers fail)

I had a call with a client this afternoon. Successful brick & mortar business owner in the UK. Smart. Driven. Wants to generate some automated income online with digital assets. She helps women who are one meltdown away from launching their laptop out the window, and burning the MFer down. We were mapping out her first digital offer. And I gave her what might be the weirdest business advice I’ve ever given. “Imagine this” I said. “You’re in an elevator with your best friend.” Your friend…

Sleeping on a kid’s bed (and starting over at 44)

I hung out at the new house today. No couch. No pictures on the wall. Just empty rooms and an echo (especially in the living room, as it has vaulted ceilings). The gas company came by this afternoon to turn the gas on. Progress. On the way home, I grabbed a modem and router so I’ll have internet tomorrow. More progress. I’m sleeping there for the first time tomorrow night. Not on my bed, though. My bed doesn’t arrive until Thursday. So I’ll be crashing on Ashton’s bed. Here’s the part that…

The part nobody warns you about when you start winning

Here’s a tough truth most people aren’t ready to hear… Your success won’t threaten strangers on the Internet. In fact, I find the strangers online are you’re biggest cheerleaders. Sadly, it will trigger the people closest to you. Friend who might poke fun at you, or suddenly go quiet. Family who start asking “helpful” questions. The people who know you in real life know the old version of you, and they prefer that version. I’ve experienced this. Many other creators deal with it as well. I…

“Volume” isn’t always the answer

Story time… I saw a post on Threads this morning where a lady shared how you can get rich selling low ticket offers. People yapping abuot “volume”. And it does work, I can confirm that after selling 4,000 low ticket items. But here’s what nobody talks about… I shared my perspective (after 4,000+ low ticket sales)… I’ve found once you hit 400-500 customers/month, customer service can be a bottleneck. Not just email, but my Instagram DMs are spilling over with people. And not just…

Old Adam would’ve skipped this

It was moving day today. So I’m writing this email at 9:40 pm. Furniture that looked lighter on the website. Boxes that looked light, and I think I threw my back out picking it up. At 44, I ain’t no spring chicken no mo’. The kids stopped by and picked out their rooms. Ava got the one with the walk in closet. Ashton got the bigger room. I get the remaining spare bedroom to turn into an office/YouTube studio. I told myself I was gonna write this email earlier today. What an adorable thought…

I got the keys

I’ve been staying at my parents house for the month of Janaury. At 44, it’s not something I “brag” about on the socials. I’ve been house hunting this month. I got approved for the one I wanted last Friday. Dropped off the security deposit on Monday. Signed the lease yesterday. I picked up the keys this morning. A new chapter begins! It’s in the same neighborhood as the kid’s Mom (it’s a 4,000 home neighborhood), so we’re close. We’re splitting the kids 50/50. Not exactly how my guidance…
