I still haven’t showered

You ever have a day where nothing goes to plan?!? Yea, me, too. It’s 6:51 pm. I’ve yet to shower. I had a convo with my developer last night at 11:00 pm “I’m launching this thing in 13 hours (noon)” I originally planned to launch it at 8 am, however, told him noon as I know we had things to do. I woke up this morning assuming he’d been working on it while I was drooling on my pillow. That was a stupid assumption. “Are you going to hook up Stripe? Why isn’t the domain set up?” I asked him this…

It’s LIVE (worth the wait)

I drove Uber at 2 AM in Las Vegas to keep the lights on. Not metaphorically. Literally. Picking up drunk strangers on a Tuesday night because the online business wasn’t paying all the bills. I missed family dinners. I missed tucking the kids in at night. I put about 80,000 miles on my car before it got totaled. Then I jumped on Threads and answered hundreds of questions, 2 to 4 hours a day, and drove Uber at night. I launched Threads Unleashed on day 32 on the platform. That little 43 page…

2 questions I asked a client yesterday

I asked a client a question yesterday… What is the specific problem your offer solves? Then I asked a follow up question… Is every piece of content you create pointing back to that problem? Silence. Not because they didn’t know their offer. Because they’d never connected the two. Honestly? I don’t blame them. I struggled with that, too. Posting daily. Sharing stories. But nothing was connected. No destination. I used to yap about email marketing often when I was selling Threads Unleashed….

You keep replacing the fuse

I read a post on Facebook this morning. It was from an entrepreneur who I respect. We’ve been connected 10+ years. His profile pic is a cartoon character. He’s has a faceless account long before it was cool. Anywho… He shared a story about a Toyota from 1955. A welding robot on the assembly line breaks down mid-cycle. The supervisor replaces the fuse. The robot breaks down again the next shift. Replaces the fuse again. This goes on and on. Finally someone stops and asks WHY. 5 times. Why…

What I told my kids in the parking lot today

My kids and I volunteered at church today. I worked the parking lot. They held the doors open and greeted people. My daughter isn’t thrilled with doing it each week. She’s 12, so I get it. I know she’ll see the value of this in 8-10 years. She showed up, smiled, and wished the Moms “Happy Mother’s Day” I referenced one of my all time favorite quote from Jim Rohn on the way to church and why we volunteer. Service to many leads to greatness Not hustle or grind to many. Service. I’ve built…

We lost…again

We lost 29 – 15 today. We’re 0 – 5 on the season. 98 degrees in Las Vegas. Only 5 kids showed up. 5 on the field. No substitutes, or breaks for the kids. Just 5 kids running full speed in the desert heat for an hour. My son Ashton is the only one on the team with any football experience. He caught 2 big 4th down conversions today. And a touchdown. Just 5 weeks ago, during the first game, he was nervous. Hesitant. Waiting to see what others were doing before making any moves. Today, he was the…
